For Kenyon Student, Immigration Debate is Personal

Marco Saavedra, Kenyon sociology student, was in the news this weekend for his participation in a hunger strike outside of Senator Charles Schumer's office. The hunger strike was to call attention to the issue of undocumented students in the United States. From Marco:

"For a long time in my life it's been fear and shame, afraid of being deported, and ashamed of being undocumented," Marco Saavedra tells me, a 20-year-old student of sociology at Kenyon College who was born in Oaxaca, Mexico."
